  • News – is when a known celebrity couple splits up and the girl deletes all photos of them, together, from their instagram account. Really interesting stuff.
  • The German Embassy in Manila donates Php13.7M to the earthquake-hit Bohol and Cebu. The Philippine government agencies, however, are still arguing amongst themselves whether to let filipinos know that we have money, just not for everybody.
  • Did you know there are more people who can afford DSLRs and yet shoots the same damn thing every time? And they have the gall to watermark all their photos and upload them online.
  • Did you know using someone else’s photograph should be called theft, and not plagiarism? There’s a difference. Look it up. It’s the reason you have search engines.
  • Do you understand that photography is a kind of theft? What else would you call a captured moment? Why do we call them “take the shot” in the first place.
  • We should really start monitoring our politicians and government agencies. They seem to have flunked mathematics and we readily put them in positions that desperately needs some mathematical prowess. Case in point: Taxes, PDAF, and disaster relief funds.

  • Admit it. You put too much weight on people’s appearance.
  • When asking for help, try to ask in a manner that would tip the favor in your side. People will do it for free, if you ask nicely.
  • I’m losing my faith with news and journalism. There’s too much fluff and frills that go with the daily broadcast.
  • I’m getting tired of living in the big city. My thoughts are now geared towards landing a big freelance job, or some really steady flow of  low paying but consistent jobs. I’m up to here with city life.
  • Lay off of Freddie Aguilar’s love life. When you talk about his love life, you must ne talking about his sex life. And that’s none of your business. People who aren’t getting laid are the ones holding a grudge against people who are getting it.
  • You might have guessed, even blogging has taken a back step when I’m illustrating and drawing.

…and I’m just killing time, letting some steam out before the weekend sets in and once again I barricade meself in me batcave and draw some more.

Upside Down Mornings

How did I get to this?

Upside Down Mornings

It’s fairly easy, once you get the hang of it.

You find something first to cushion your head, a small pillow or a rolled up blanket, and then find a spot close to the wall. Nopw slowly, maybe ceremoniously,  place your head on that cushion, have your arms and hands in square angles from your shoulders to support your neck, and raise your lower body up, and ease yourself into an upside down position, while relocationg strtain from your neck to your arms, hands and elbows. Wait a few minutes to settle and adjust to a more comfortable position.

Of course to some, being upside down is not comfortable at all. Continue reading

Wrong Timing, Bad Timing Redux

Before I go further let me me refresh your memory about this issue with water, and refer you to two previous blog posts I did

Now, like any service-related complaint, people start out asking nicely, because, popular knowledge has taught us that when we complain about utilities like electricity, water, mobile communication, you need a lot of patience and good nature , with hopes of actually being able to talk to someone who will be gracious enough to really listen and pass along the information to the necessary department or section, for the complaint to be acted upon.

I do know the drill.

August 16,2012

I called Maynilad Hotline 1226 and that sweet voice telling me that my call is on queue and a customer service representative will soon be available to answer the call. For about 12 times, or so. Nevertheless, I tried calling again. Still that same sweet voice, that I know If I had held on a little longer, I would probably try to get details and ask her for a date. But no, no one human did answer the call. Maybe I’ll try email.

August 17, 2012

I got into the website and posted a complaint about the “intermittent” “dirty” and “odorous” water. Tough luck if they reply promptly. The last email I sent them needed a week for a response to come back to me.

Tried Twitter, that omnipresent socia-microblog-turned-gossip-cum-troll-medium and looked for @maynilad and @MAYNILADWATER so that at least people on the other end might be able to see the post  and maybe, just maybe, able to reply. But someone did call me, but only to ask fopr the details, of which, I can clearly remembered including on that email. Oh well, might as well repeat the process orally. And also I got an email saying they will get to it.

IMMEDIATELY.

August 18,2012

Nothing. Stayed at hoe all day Saturday . No Maynilad knocking at my door.

August 19,2012

Still no one comes a-knocking on my door.

August 20 and 21, 2012

Now, I am employed so I won’t stay at home to wait for a spiffy Maynilad personnel to knock  on my door and as k about the complaint. Scuttlebutt says there was someone looking around but only asked Aling Rose, at the sari-sari store about the water being murky and intermittent. Said person made snide comments saying I was makulit about the complaint. These and the snide remark will be logged as  August 22,2012

So here goes:
